The Hadeed Carpet Alexandria West End Art and Wine Festival will be held in Cameron Station and Ben Brenman Park this weekend, October 8-9, 2011. It kicks off with an official ceremony held at the Gazebo on Cameron Station Blvd., where the mayor of Alexandria will recognize local businesses and others sponsorting the event, as well as Festival planners and its Cameron Station host. A check will be presented to Capital Caring, the Alexandria charity chosen to be a beneficiary of this inaugural festival.
Visitors will enjoy a number of festival activity areas:
- 90 juried artists from all facets of art, located in Cameron Station, along with 25 quality handcrafters, in adjacent Ben Brenman Park
- 15 local restaurants representing an ethnic “Taste of the West End”
- 100 sponsor booths and displays, located in Ben Brenman Park
- three stage of live entertainment featuring popular local artists
- a Wine Garden, located in the gazebo area of Ben Brenman Park
